Since our inception in 2013, Quadrangle has amassed a robust team of both legal and financial subject matter experts. We have developed an extensive network of relationships across the financial industry, providing a broad perspective of the counterparty and vendor landscapes.
Michael Katz, Founder
Michael Katz is the Founder and Managing Partner of Quadrangle. Michael has spent his career building world-class investment management firms.
From 1995 to 2005, Michael was the Managing Director and Co-General Counsel at Paloma Partners. Michael was responsible for legal, regulatory, and compliance as well as various business and transaction matters between the investment partnerships, funds and management company. He helped develop the fund’s operational banking arrangements and built best practice models for each of the fund’s trading strategies. Michael also was instrumental in building the infrastructure for Paloma’s seeding platform. Prior to Paloma, Michael was a corporate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Michael received a BS in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh. Michael is an active member of the University of Pennsylvania’s alumni association.
Bill Busineau, Senior Director
Bill Busineau is a Senior Director at Quadrangle. He is an attorney with over 20 years in the financial industry with experience in a wide variety of trading and investment products, as well as the various laws and regulations that impact those products. His experience prior to Quadrangle included positions at Citigroup, Credit Suisse, HSBC, and RBS and work as an associate in the structured finance / derivatives departments at the law firms of Schulte Roth and Zabel, and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Prior to attending law school, Bill spent a combined 6 years in Haiti first as a Peace Corps Volunteer and then as a Regional Director with the OAS/UN International Civilian Mission.
Bill received his AB from Colby College and his JD from Fordham University School of Law.
Daniel Katz, COO
Daniel Katz joined Quadrangle in 2018 as COO and focuses on core business activities, including business development, product expansion, industry relationships, and client management. Dan understands the importance of listening to prospects and clients to learn and understand the challenges they face. This allows for Quadrangle’s services and technology to continuously adapt to fulfill and exceed client needs. Prior to Quadrangle, Dan was a Manager at a major financial consulting firm focusing on regulatory, credit, and risk initiatives within the banking and capital markets space.
Dan received a BBA from George Washington University with a concentration in Finance.
Hans Gibson, Senior Director
Hans Gibson is a Senior Director at Quadrangle. He has spent over 30 years of his career in the documentation of trade and financing agreements (mainly in the derivatives and Prime Brokerage industries) with investment funds, large and small corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Prior to Quadrangle, Hans was a director at UBS AG where he was responsible for the documentation of ISDA Agreements, along with being part of the team that instituted a new documentation tracking and reporting system. Hans also learned and negotiated Prime Brokerage and Repurchase Agreements, along with the Master Equity Confirmation. Prior to UBS, Hans spent 8 years as an Associate at JPMorgan where he focused on derivatives documentation with European companies and high-net-worth individuals.
Hans received a BA from Connecticut College and a Certificate of Accounting from Fairfield University.
Chip Haunss, Director
Chip Haunss is a Director at Quadrangle. Chip has 19 years of legal experience, including the last 13 focused on the negotiation and review of trade and financing agreements (with a specialization in derivatives and prime brokerage space) for hedge funds, banks, and corporations. Prior to Quadrangle, Chip worked for Morgan Stanley, both as a negotiator in its equity derivatives documentation team and its exotic confirmations team. Before Morgan Stanley, Chip worked at Thomson Reuters, where he was a senior manager. Chip also spent 6 years as a vice president at Bank of America Corporation.
Chip received his BA from SUNY Geneseo and his JD and MA in Journalism from Syracuse University.
Matthew Merrill, Director
Matthew Merrill is a Director at Quadrangle, where he has worked since 2018. He is primarily involved in negotiating derivatives documentation as well as vendor agreements. Prior to Quadrangle, Matthew worked at New Oak, a consulting firm that specializes in mortgage-backed securities litigation.
Matthew received a BS in Psychology from Michigan State University and his JD from New York Law School.
Victoria DiStefano, Vice President of Legal Operations
Victoria DiStefano is a Vice President of Legal Operations who joined Quadrangle in 2022. She focuses primarily on negotiating trade and financing documentation for established investment firms and new hedge fund launches. Prior to Quadrangle, Victoria worked in the financial services department at the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft where she researched SEC, FINRA and CFTC regulation and drafted publications of the firm’s newsletters covering significant events in U.S. federal financial regulation, as well as regulatory enforcement actions. Additionally, Victoria was an active member of New York Law School’s Center for Business and Financial Law which focused on all aspects of business and corporate law.
Victoria received her BA in Legal Studies from Quinnipiac University and her JD from New York Law School.
Joe Angelo Zanghi, Senior Associate
Joe Angelo Zanghi is a Senior Associate at Quadrangle who joined in 2023. Prior to Quadrangle, Joe worked at a large plaintiff personal injury firm in Brooklyn handling almost all court documentation for client matters, from Summons and Complaints to Summary Judgment Motions. Most recently, Joe worked at a large financial institution in Third Party Risk Management, where he specialized in organizing, gathering, analyzing, tracking, negotiating, and building out databases for vendor agreements.
Also a native New Yorker, Joe received his BA in Political Science from Baruch College and later his JD from New York Law School. He joined the New York City State Bar in March of 2021.
Emily Sforza, Senior Associate
Emily Sforza is a Senior Associate who joined Quadrangle in 2023 after interning during law school. In law school, Emily was an affiliate of the Center for Business and Financial Law and a clinic student in New York Law School’s Securities Arbitration Clinic. Prior to joining Quadrangle, Emily interned with the New York State Senate and with a personal injury firm specializing in medical malpractice.
Emily graduated magna cum laude from University at Albany with a degree in Economics and a minor in Public Policy & Administration. She received her JD from New York Law School.
Gianna Scotti, Associate
Gianna Scotti joined Quadrangle as an Associate in 2024. In law school, Gianna was an affiliate of New York Law School’s Center for Business and Financial Law and an active member of New York Law School’s Dispute Resolution Team. As a member of the Dispute Resolution Team, Gianna represented her school at nationwide negotiation and arbitration competitions. Prior to Quadrangle, Gianna worked as an Associate Attorney at Pitta & Baione LLP representing 9/11 victims in their claims to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.
Gianna graduated summa cum laude from Kutztown University’s College of Business and later received her JD from New York Law School. She joined the New York State Bar in June of 2023.
Lily Hatzenbeler, Associate
Lily Hatzenbeler joined Quadrangle as an Associate in 2024 after interning throughout her time in law school. In law school, Lily was the Executive Editor of the New York Law School Law Review and President of the Legal Association for Women.
Lily graduated cum laude from George Washington University with a BA in Political Science and Criminal Justice. She received her JD with cum laude honors from New York Law School.
Paulina Jedrzejowski, Associate
Paulina Jedrzejowski joined Quadrangle as an Associate in 2024. In law school, Paulina was the Executive Articles Submission Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law and a member of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration team of the Moot Court Honor Society. During law school, she also interned at the New Jersey Bureau of Securities, Michele Kern-Rappy Dispute Resolution, Eldridge, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution, and QBE Americas. Before law school, Paulina worked as a corporate paralegal at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
Paulina graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a BA in International Relations, Economics, and Portuguese. She received her JD with cum laude honors from Brooklyn Law School. During her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, travelling, and reading.
Caitlin Hillebrand, Associate
Caitlin Hillebrand joined Quadrangle as an Associate in 2025. Throughout law school, Caitlin interned as an Employment and Litigation Law Clerk at Helbraun Levey, a boutique law firm in lower Manhattan.
Originally from Queens, Caitlin received a BA in international relations and anthropology from Syracuse University and a JD from New York Law School. She is currently awaiting admission to the New York State Bar.
Nicholas Pagliarulo, Associate
Nicholas Pagliarulo joined Quadrangle as an Associate in 2025 after previously interning there during law school. In law school, Nicholas was a Notes and Comments Editor for the New York Law School Law Review.
Nicholas graduated cum laude from Rutgers University with a BA in History and Political Science. He received his JD from New York Law School, also with cum laude honors.
Riley Coyne, Senior Vice President
Riley Coyne is a Senior Vice President who joined Quadrangle in 2019. He focuses primarily on project management and data analysis. Additionally, Riley spearheads many new technology projects, acting as a liaison with the development team. Prior to his time at Quadrangle, Riley worked at Castle Hill Capital Partners in capital introduction for endowments, pension funds, and foundations.
Originally from Cleveland, Riley graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University with a degree in finance, fintech, and economics. Outside of work, Riley loves playing music and new technology.
Avery Gross, Product Design Analyst
Avery Gross is a Product Design Analyst at Quadrangle, where he focuses on improving the user experience of the company’s technology. He works closely with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, user-centered solutions that enhance efficiency and engagement.
He joined Quadrangle in 2025 after working at a digital media startup, where he gained experience in designing digital products and optimizing user interactions. He earned his degree in Information Sciences and Technology from Penn State University.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains, whether trail running, biking, skiing, or camping.
Patrick Neuner, Vice President
Patrick Neuner is a Senior Analyst who joined Quadrangle in 2020. At Quadrangle, Patrick primarily focuses on project management and sales. Before Quadrangle, Patrick interned for Teneo Strategy, Predata, and Grameen Bank. Outside of work, Patrick is passionate about politics, international development and finding cheap flights.
He is from Atlanta, by way of Washington, where he attended George Washington University. There he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics and international affairs.
Grace Janosik, Vice President
Grace Janosik is a Senior Analyst who joined Quadrangle in 2021 after interning during her last semester before graduation. She primarily focuses on internal project management, marketing, and technology development.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Grace attended Fordham University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in information systems, mathematics, and business law and ethics.
Christopher Goldfarb, Senior Analyst
Christopher Goldfarb is a Senior Analyst who joined Quadrangle in 2022. He primarily focuses on project management, sales, and business development. Prior to his time at Quadrangle, he worked at AlphaSights in their Client Services department.
He attended Seton Hall University and graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University with a degree in business information technology management and finance. He is currently studying at Seton Hall to obtain his MBA in business analytics. In his personal time, he likes to work on short films or skits and go on hikes.
Lauren Ogden, Analyst
Lauren joined Quadrangle in 2025 as an Analyst. She works primarily on customer relationship management, project management, and sales. Prior to Quadrangle, Lauren held an internship at a non-profit focusing on humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
Originally from Rochester, New York, Lauren graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
Kim Burlak, Executive Assistant
Kim joined Quadrangle as an Executive Assistant in 2024. Kim directly assists the team with administrative tasks and has relevant experience supporting high level executives in the financial industry. Kim provides logistical support, coordinates scheduling and communications, and helps ensure organization and efficiency in the firm’s operations.
Originally from Marlboro, New Jersey, Kim graduated from UMass Amherst in 2022 with an undergraduate degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. In her personal time, she enjoys creating art and playing with her cat.
