Meet the Founder

Michael Katz is the Founder and Managing Partner of Quadrangle Consulting LP and QDS LP.  Michael has spent his career building world-class investment management firms.

Prior to Quadrangle, Michael was a Managing Director and General Counsel of Paloma Partners where he was responsible for various business, transactional and structuring matters between the investment firm and the internal portfolio managers in Paloma’s multi-manager model.    Michael built best practice models for each of the fund’s trading strategies including developing the fund’s trade and financing arrangements (e.g., Prime Brokerage and Derivatives).  He was instrumental in developing and building the infrastructure for Paloma’s seeding platform including structuring the funds, selection criteria and bringing those funds to market.  Michael was a member of the strategic development team that evaluated and implemented managed accounts arrangements.

Prior to Paloma, Michael was a corporate attorney at Weil, Gotshal and Manges.  Michael received a BS in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the University of Pittsburgh. Michael is an active member of the University of Pennsylvania’s alumni association.
